I'm trying to find a way to talk about the mystery, wonder and
reverence I feel for natural landscapes. I like to submit to
landscape, to acknowledge the power it has over us. To reduce the
world to us and 'it'. Naked, vulnerable and forever overwhelmed and in
awe of this relentless and overwhelming beauty.
Sunsets are beautiful. period. They are stunning and so beyond our reach
that we tend to trivialize or forget to look for them. We imagine that
our urban spaces can in some way compete.
Things must get done in the world and the fact of the matter is,
humans just cannot walk around in a constant state of awe.
We seek to control the natural world in some way.
Must we now and always shun, discount and destroy beauty?
